Job: Finance Manager – Network

Based: Smethwick, UK

Remuneration: Excellent base salary, company car + bonus

Our Senior Director of Finance – Network is looking to hire an outstanding CFO – Network to join their highly skilled and successful team.

You will work within a direct team of 6 people and an extended team of 16 people. This position will be based in our Smethwick office.

DPD has over 85 depots across the UK and these are known as our ‘network’. In this role, you will support the Central Network Finance team in

  • The delivery of high-level network projects

  • Drive the culture of innovation, continuous improvement and standardization

  • Engage with key stakeholders to identify project objectives and key deliverables in the country operations pipeline

  • Manage the execution of the project; track delivery; wait, monitor and control changes – track project owner for the network

  • Analytical review of network spend and recommendations to improve efficiency and spend

  • Review of subcontractor costs

  • Review of contracts for renewals and new suppliers

  • Attend/cover daily and weekly network reports.

About you

As a successful candidate, you must have a passion for numbers. You will be educated to Diploma or equivalent level and be a fully qualified ACA/ACCA or have a similarly recognized accounting qualification. You ideally have 1 year of post-graduate experience. We would also expect;

  • Advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills to adapt policies and programs and develop models.

  • Advanced skills in the use of a computer with word processing, spreadsheet and other commercial software to prepare reports, memoranda, summaries and analyses.

  • In-depth skills in project planning and management, ability to work in a team, leadership and maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills, as well as being a good persistent negotiator.

  • Autonomous, motivated, with a flexible approach to work.

  • High level of professional integrity combined with a practical “can-do” approach.

  • Good commercial awareness and in-depth understanding of the business and the organization’s high-level objectives and key associated risks.

Additional requirements

  • Experience using analytical tools such as Tableau, Power BI

  • Experience building dashboards using Google Data Studio
