Lots of Jobs as IT and Financial Firms Lead Third Day of Hiring in IITs

Information Technology, Analytics and Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) companies led the campus hires of Indian Institutes of Technology on Monday, the third and final day of the internship season in the main engineering schools.

IIT Roorkee has been recruited by Citi Bank, Cisco, Fractal Analytics, GE, Math Works, Mercari, OYO Rooms, Paytm and Razorpay. IIT Kanpur had top recruiters like Caterpillar, Taiwan Semiconductors, HSBC, Mastercard, Citi, and Paytm.

Most campuses reported an increase in recruitments compared to last year. Up to 79 companies made 503 offers to IIT Roorkee, up from 419 last year.

Among these, Citicorp Services India Pvt. Ltd. made a maximum of eight offers and six pre-placement offers (PPOs), bringing the total to 14 offers. Eaton, Headout, Roposo, Sapient and Tesco were among the other companies that visited IIT Roorkee.

IIT Kanpur saw 18 companies make over 70 offers on the third day. In Kanpur, 100 companies made nearly 450 offers in three days, which is significantly more than last year.

“Last year we were at around 380 bids at that time. Things are looking very positive this year. Basic companies have arrived in large numbers this year, followed by other sectors,” said Syam Nair. , President of the Student Placement Office, IIT Kanpur. .

Details of hires at IIT Bombay on Monday are expected, but there were 390 offers from nearly 80 companies over the weekend. On day one, 35 companies made 183 offers. The second day of internships saw the recruitment of 210 candidates by 44 companies. No less than 72 of those offerings were from the basic engineering sector, eight of which were international offerings from Japanese companies Murata and Sysmex.

On the first day at IIT Bombay, for national roles, the highest number of offers were made by Microsoft, Qualcomm, BCG, Strategy & Cairn while the maximum international offers were made by NEC Japan, Microsoft, Optiver , Rubrik, Cohesity & Uber. The first recruiters on day one were Cohesity, LEK Consulting and a few others. Among the sectors, the main hiring was done by basic engineering, IT / software, finance and consulting. IIT Bombay expects more PSUs to participate during the remainder of the placement season.

Intel (19 offers), Eaton (9 offers) and Exxon (8 offers) in the core sector, with the exception of Hitachi (15 offers), Oracle (14 offers), Samsung R&D. Institute India (13 offers) and Sap Labs (12 offers). Some of the notable companies that visited IIT Bombay for the first time were Exxon, Honda, and Oneplus.
