Marquette County Treasurer Accepts New CFO Position

Marquette County Treasurer Anne Giroux announced her resignation on Friday, but she won’t go far.

Giroux has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer for Marquette County.

Giroux has served as Marquette County Treasurer for the past 12 years. She says she will mostly miss working with people and educating different community groups about property taxes.

His new position as finance officer will focus more on the budget and how the county’s money is spent.

She is looking forward to taking on different challenges with this new position.

“You know the county certainly has a lot of challenges ahead. There are issues with local government revenues, funding, post-retirement benefits, things like that,” Giroux said. “A lot of different challenges in the budget won’t always be fun, but I think thinking more strategically and trying to overcome those challenges is exciting and I think I can help with that.”

His resignation takes effect on October 31, 2019.

A successor will be appointed to complete the remainder of her term as Marquette County Treasurer, which ends December 31, 2020.

Giroux hopes to continue providing staff support to the Marquette County Land Bank Authority and the Marquette County Brownfield Authority.
